ABOUT OUR DOCTORS
Dona Alvarez, MD is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who grew up in Oakland, Maryland. She graduated from West Virginia University and completed her medical training there as well before starting orthopaedic services at the Garrett Regional Medical Center in 1989. She joined her father, Joseph Alvarez, MD, the first general surgeon in Garrett County. She has had a diverse experience with the practice of orthopaedics. Her practice involves a wide range of specialized care including joint replacement surgery, joint arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, carpal tunnel release, and treatment of trauma/fractures.
Dr. Alvarez is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition, she is a member of American Medical Association. Dr Alvarez volunteers in numerous areas such as the Garrett County Animal Issues Advisory Commission, Garrett Countians for Smart Growth, and Central American Medical Outreach (CAMO).
Todd Feathers, MD grew up in Bedford Pennsylvania. He graduated as a Phi Beta Kappa from Washington and Jefferson College. After completing medical school at Jefferson Medical Center, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he completed orthopaedic surgery training at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas. He served at Camp Arena in Herat, Afghanistan. Prior to joining Garrett County Orthopaedics, Dr. Feathers practiced orthopaedics at McDonald Army Health Center in Virginia. Dr. Feathers is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Feathers specializes in treating sport injuries and trauma, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, arthroscopic ankle surgery, joint replacement surgery, and trauma/fracture care.
Marjorie Fridkin, MD graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor's Degree in neuropsychology from the University of Michigan in 1996. She attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine graduating in 2000 with a medical degree. A surgical internship and residency in general surgery was completed at Boston University Medical Center in 2005. While in her 4th year of medical school, Dr. Fridkin participated in the AHEC program, studying rural primary care in Garrett County Maryland. During this time, she started her participation with Central American Medical Outreach by going on a medical mission to provide orthopaedic care in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras. Following her residency, she returned to Maryland and started a private practice in General Surgery at the office of Garrett County Orthopaedics in 2005.
Dr. Fridkin has been the Medical Director of the Wound Care Center at Garrett Regional Medical Center since 2009. She is also the Chief Medical Officer at Garrett Regional Medical Center, effective in 2014. As well, she participates in the Medical Executive Committee, the Quality Assurance and Risk Management Committee, the Peer Review Committee, and is the Physician Liaison for the Computerized Physician Order Entry process and documentation at the Garrett Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Fridkin is a board certified General Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. H. John Park received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from New York University and a Medical Doctorate from Catholic Medical College in Seoul, Korea. He completed an internship in general surgery at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Park completed orthopedic residency at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a member of the American Medical Association and a member emeritus of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Park is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in general orthopedic surgery. He has practiced for over 35 years in medical centers in the Midwest (Minnesota, Wisconsin), Kentucky, and the south; most recently at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama.
Dr. Park has four grandchildren. He and his wife reside in Oakland are avid golfers.
